According to Wikipedia, the OG of Atlanta, Linnethia “NeNe” Leakes, was born on December 13, 1967, in Queens, New York. I don’t have the exact time of birth, so her rising sign and houses won’t enter this discussion. But we can still learn a lot from what we have!

Boiled down, the Sagittarius energy is equal to that of a golden retriever puppy. But, I don't think of NeNe as having puppy energy. While I think she exhibits signs of a Sagittarius Sun, she doesn’t go to the extremes adventuring or inspiration. This is because her Sag energy is tempered by other planets and aspects in her chart, but we’ll get to those in the following sections.
Looking at this list, I'd say she definitely reached for the stars in her life. She went from being a traditional housewife to becoming one of the most beloved Real Housewives of all time (you must admit you loved her at some point). And that takes a certain amount of optimism and enthusiasm. She's certainly showed us that she can be over the top, which is kind of like reaching for the stars. It's reaching above the average behavior at least.
This is where things get a little looser in terms of defining a Sagittarius. She is a truth-teller in specific ways, but it’s her truth. Not the objective neutral bystander truth. And speaking her truth can often be juiced by her desire to reach her goals. Desires > factual truth. Another way we can say truth telling is being blunt, which Sagittarius is also known for. I don’t think she ever said something that wasn’t abundantly clear.
I think having the freedom to do exactly what she wants is important to her. Now, this can take the form of living her life on her own terms or leaving a party or event when things aren’t going her way.
She also has a spiritual side—she’s brought sage to houses, prayed, and generally sought guidance. I can’t see her as daredevil, but again, this can be explained. In fact, let’s just get to it.
Taurus Moon
With her moon in Taurus, we see her desire for comfort at all costs. Does that conflict with freedom at all costs? Not in my mind. Taurean energy is associated with creature comforts. So rather than holding the image of NeNe driving solo down a deserted highway, destination unknown, let’s see a woman relaxing on a couch. That can also be freedom. Freedom from a 9 - 5 job. Or a job in a strip club. It’s the freedom to choose her daily activities. With the moon involved her need to feel comfortable and protected probably pulls her in this direction.
A primary association for a moon in Taurus is being stubborn. Oh, baby, can this combo dig in its heels and not move an inch. This is actually where I see the confluence of the Sag and Tau working together; when NeNe doesn’t get her way, she isn’t going to change her mind. Instead, she leaves. Freedom + stubborn = Sag and Tau.
Taurus is also a sign of rest. So the get-up-and-go of Sag can be muted by the Taurean Moon energy of sitting still.
Virgo Planets
Jupiter, the ruler of her Sun sign, is in Virgo. This planet is all about expansion, growth, possibilities, and luck. However, it is in detriment in Virgo, so some of her innate gifts and talents are somewhat hard for her to access.
I want to focus on her ability to find spiritual growth here. Virgo is the Virgin, after all. This in combination with her Sag Sun allow NeNe to tap into immense spiritual growth. Virgo rules all levels of health, so this growth could also take the form of physical or mental health. But… NeNe seems more likely to go on a spiritual journey than a physical one. Just based on years of televised behavior.
Jupiter in Virgo can also indicate some work-a-holic tendencies. I agree that NeNe took every opportunity given to her (Greg, Housewives, the show with the guy that made her a rich bitch, Ryan Murphy, etc.). But I also think she made choices that were more in line with the Taurus moon (aka rest).
Publishing is also associated with Jupiter in Virgo. If we consider Twitter a publishing house, then she has been a New York Times Best Seller for years.
Uranus and Pluto are also in Virgo. Uranus adds the flavor of rebellion. Though we don’t know what part of her chart it's in, we can determine that her road to health in body/mind/spirit will be done on her own terms. And that may mean suggesting a group therapy session, then leaving said session when it gets too tough.
Her Pluto is trine her Moon and square her Sun. This means she will be slow to evolve in her life. The Moon in Taurus isn’t known for speed; Pluto is known for profound, long-term transformation. So, however NeNe evolves, it takes a long time. And this transformation is at odds with her present self. So, she probably isn’t hurrying to make any significant changes. She has to be in a place where she can truly focus on changing her day-to-day life to reach any spiritual peace. But with Uranus, that could look like anything… maybe an Ultimate Girls Trip?
Aries Planets
Saturn in Aries can be associated with lacking self esteem, especially when you’re young. Now, the real question is, does NeNe lack self esteem? I think, yes… in some ways. She does have a lot of outer bravado, but I’m not sure how deep that belief runs. I don't know if it goes into the core of her being.
You might disagree with me on the self-esteem front, but we can agree on other Saturn in Aries tropes. Typically, this placement can indicate someone was told in their youth to change their looks and behaviors. “Don’t be too loud.” “Look like this.” “Don’t be too much.” They’re told to be small. And NeNe simply was not meant to be small. She is larger than life. It opposes Uranus in Virgo, indicating that she maybe didn’t internalize these words (a point for the “yes she absolutely has self-esteem column). It can mean that she had a different way of handling this. Or that she has a critical side of herself, making other people’s critiques useless.
The North Node in Aries shows she is meant to cultivate more Aries energy. So, more leadership. Initiating more projects. Really leaning into being the trailblazer. Unfortunately, we don’t know what area of her life this is in. But, if you think we didn’t have enough of NeNe, we apparently can have more. She needs to stand in her power in this area.
Libra South Node
An Aries North Node means she has a Libra South Node . This is her comfort zone. She is used to being around people and having someone make decisions for her in one particular part of her life.
So, I have to wonder if living without Greg is good for her. Obviously, his death was tragic, and I don’t wish her that pain. But she is standing on her own. Remember, she went back to Greg after trying to be single and find another man. I want to know what this period of life is like for her. Perhaps this difficult time is necessary.
Scorpio Planets
Venus, the ruler of her moon sign, is in Scorpio. So yes… there is some volatility to her relationships. She isn’t afraid to go into dangerous conversational topics. However, if you push her to come out with her thoughts and feelings about these topics, she’s gonna clam up. Scorpio is secretive. So many times you will see a double standard in a Scorpio. They’ll share everything or keep everything hidden.
This also means she will fight for the people she loves. Don’t come for her or anyone she considers close. The Scorpion will sting. However, Neptune dissipates this energy to a certain degree. The follow-through is a little softer. I don’t know if Porscha would agree, but yeah.
Neptune can get her in her deep, deep feelings. You can get lost in a Scorpio Neptune. This is another profoundly stubborn placement. There is also potential for a deep depression that can overtake her. However, this depth also shows us that her dreams run deep. Her desires are essential to her, and she is ok with going through some shit to get them.
Mars in Aquarius
Now this placement gives her bark and bite an interesting edge. She fights her own way and on her own terms. It would be so helpful to know what she wants to fight for (aka knowing the house).
This can also indicate a very independent person, which aligns with most of her chart (exception for South Node in Libra). It’s also an indication of someone who will fight for their community. I know she works with The Twisted Hearts Foundation, and maybe to Detroit Public Schools. So that is definitely an area that Mars in Aquarius can shine through.
But let's go back and look at her Mars being square Venus. So here is where I see her fighting instincts being misplaced. As much as she’ll fight for her family, she will also fight with her family and friends. Her and Marlo were on and off every season. Her friendship with Cynthia. Her friendship with Porscha. All victims of this connection. She just can’t help herself, see.
Pisces Chiron
And to round out how deeply she feels, let’s look at her Chiron: the point of pain and the releasing of it. This placement is saying that NeNe does not trust anyone or anything. Something has happened in her life that has made her lose her trust in the universe. This can egg on the victim mentality that Pisces is known for.
So what does she have to do? Start trusting! Based on her tolerance for people looking in her closet, I can only imagine how arduous this journey will be. She's also had cockroach filmed in her home - this wasn't the cause of her mistrust, but it definitely didn't help.
But on the bright side, people with this placement can definitely feel rejected and unloved, and being on the show hopefully healed that!
